My Papers

Reverse Transfer was a fun concept to learn about. This paper was for the course Programs for Access and Opportunity in Higher Education. I enjoyed researching non-traditional approaches to educational goals. This paper helped me gain a new appreciation for supporting an educational journey with ‘outside the box’ solutions. Looking at how to use the education that students already have or giving them a way to pivot and change educational goals as lives and priorities change has become an important concept to me and I have more focus on looking at the end goal of the student and seeing how to support that pathway over pushing them through a checklist to graduation.

This paper was very eye-opening to me. It was written for the Adult Learners course. Being part of the Millennial generation, albeit on the older side, made this project more personal. Looking into the motivation for why someone from the Millennial generation would want to go back to school and the complex reasoning made my motivations more clear. Reading through the literature and seeing how my generation has different challenges than previous generations reminded me that the next generations will probably have their differences as well and that I can continue to be curious and motivated to support learners from all eras and backgrounds.

In this paper, you will see how I explored the learning process for a working professional and not a traditional student in higher education. I wrote this paper for the class Adult Learners. I wanted to experience this elective to better prepare myself for working with adults and non-traditional students and fully enjoyed exploring the different theories behind pedagogical learning and andrological learning. The best part of this was knowing that people spend most of their lives as adult learners and that much of what I learned regarding leadership and communication will remain relevant to me.
